=(

I’m having a funeral for my computer. *sigh* I borrowed another computer for the time being so I could atleast check email. (I’m such an addict!)

Basically.. my computer worked fine.. I got into Windows, signed online, started to check email & load up something. (Realplayer, I think) when it locked up on me. I got a blue screen.. rebooted. Then it started telling me I had no BIOS & that there was a hard disk failure.. blah blah blah. Told me to insert the system disk, which I did. It then says, “Loading Windows..” and then it does nothing at all. =( =(=(

I’ve just about had it with this computer… it makes being an internet addict quite hard. ;)

*sigh* hehe blah.

Anyways, Enough of me bitching! I went to see The Sum of All Fears today.. I really liked it. I had no idea this actor was in it, but I just love him.. =)

I’m such a snob.

I’m such a book-snob. I absolutely hate reading a book that has that ugly “Oprah’s Book Club” stamp on it. I usually avoid those books.

Well… I’ve been wanting to read A Fine Balance for awhile now but avoided it.. because of the “Oprah’s Book Club” stamp. I really like Booker Prize books… and this one was a finalist. Actually, the author has been a finalist twice. It’s won a few various other awards.. has amazing reviews.. but that “Oprah’s Book Club” stamp just turned me off.

Anyways, I caved in… I’m reading it now, but I keep hiding that stupid stamp. I want to find a sticker to put over it or something… hehe

Silly, huh? I’m just a snob.

Yes, another quiz. =)

It made me laugh.. so I just had to post another quiz. =) I’ve gone a little overboard with quizzes lately.. but some are just so silly. =) Anyways, I got this one from Dave.

No more quotes from me for today.. I promise. I’ve been posting nothing but quotes the past two days or so because I’m really just not a good conversationalist right now… for various reasons. It’s 4:38am and I’m still awake… I have a splitting headache… blah, blah, blah. I’ll stop whining.

There are some bad movies on this late… right now, my current choices are: Vibes, Dick Tracy, The Bodyguard, The Professional, Bless the Child, Nurse Betty, etc… The list goes on and on. *turns off TV*

I spent a lot of time in the bookstore tonight.. I love that place. =) I can spend hours there and not even realize it. I feel like going back tomorrow..

Harold & Maude

Wednesday, June 26th, 2002

I’m in a much better mood today… I watched Harold & Maude this morning.. I’ve never seen it before. I fell in love with that movie.. =) I love some of Maude’s quotes…

“Harold, everyone has the right to make an ass out of themselves. You can’t let the world judge you too much.”

“Vice, virtue, it’s best not to be too moral - you cheat yourself out of too much life. Aim above morality.”

Anywys, i have posted enough quotes for the past two days. =)

I got a postcard from Laura from Paris.. Thanks, girl! I love the picture. I absolutely love getting postcards from around the world.. =) Recently, I got a postcard from Japan.. from a friend of mine.. but he has been home from Japan for over two or three months. Took it long enough, eh? hehe I guess it got lost somewhere.

Quotes

Tuesday, June 25th, 2002

I’m not in much of a talkative mood today.. I’m still rather blah.. but I’ve been going through quotes I had saved… I figured I’d post a few. =)

“Worries are like rocking chairs, they give you something to do, but they don’t get you anywhere!” (not sure who said this one)

“We are restless because of incessant change, but we would be frightened if change were stopped.”-Lyman Lloyd Bryson

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”-William Arthur Ward

“There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”-Edith Wharton

“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” - (not sure who said it)

“What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, ‘This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!’ Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, ‘Never have I heard anything more divine’?”-Friedrich Nietzsche

“If you do something that turns out wrong, you can almost always put it right, get over it, learn from it, or at least deny it. But once you’ve missed out on something, it’s gone. There will be the girl you never got to say the right words to, the band you never got to see live, the winning streak you never got to cheer on, the brilliant retiring professor whose class you never took, the relative you never got very close with. It’s a long list no matter what. Try to keep it as short as possible.”-Gordon Drizschilo

“The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.”-Ann Landers

“All changes have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die one life before we can enter unto another.”-Anatole France

“A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.”

“You can explore the universe looking for somebody who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and you will not find that person anywhere.”

“Remember no man is a failure who has friends.”-Clarence in It’s a Wonderful Life

“…she was no longer examining life, but being examined by it; she had become a real person.”-E. M. Forster, A Passage to India (for some reason out of all of these, this is my favourite at the moment..)

That’s enough for now, I think.. I’m scared to see how long this post will be.

I hate it when you’re completely fed up with something and there is nothing you can do to fix it but accept it.

*sigh*
