Friday, March 28th, 2003When was your telecommunicative birthday? Or, when was the first time you started talking to people on your computer, using the Internet, a BBS, etc… Not the first time you browsed a webpage, but maybe your first step into IRC or when you got your first ICQ#.
I had a computer that I just played silly games on for awhile, but when I was around 13 or 14 my parents signed up to Prodigy.. so that’s when I first got online. (Holy crap, that’s almost 10 years ago now!! :yikes: ) I remember that they would have these “free weekends” where you could go to certain bulletin boards and post - and how a bunch of us would just flood the place with useless nonsense. Ahh, memories.
I remember when Prodigy offered 9600bps connections… geez. 
That would just be unacceptable today!
I met Jasmine around 1993 - on this bulletin board where a lot of teen girls posted. (Eventually we would vote certain guys to post there. lol How elitest, eh??) I can’t believe I’ve known her 10 years now… geez! Time flies.
Eventually it got to the point where Prodigy started limiting hours and whatnot. I ended up following a friend of mine to a service called GNN… which I used to get on IRC. There I met Jeff, Ed, Scott, etc… gosh, that was 8-9 years ago.
I feel old now.
mini-projects
Friday, March 28th, 2003I’ve spent most of tonight playing with scripts and add-ons for MT. Right now I’m tweaking the Comment Tracker program (over on the right hand side) - the people at the top of the list don’t post anymore.
Also - I combined more of the email addies that have been used over the past year or so - so some of you have moved up on that list… hehe
I’m having a lot of fun playing around with this stuff… :yes:

Thursday, March 27th, 2003The site is all moved over to it’s new home (at Jeff’s site) - Jeff deserves a medal for putting up with me the past few days! hehe I’ve spent 2 days fiddling with MT code trying to get smilies to work. No such luck so far. 
The script I used to use… that website is no longer around. I found another one - but this one uses macros. I had it all installed & then it crashed MT. *grrr* =) I’ll try again later.
I did add something over on the right hand side of the page… those are just the top 15. I spent a few hours on that… going through and combining some comments (like for example if someone switched email addies or nicknames) - I think I finally got most of them done…
Hope everyone is having a great week. =) I’m back to trying to get smileys to work…

Atonement
Tuesday, March 25th, 2003I just finished reading Atonement - by Ian McEwan. I’ve been engrossed in the past few days…what a fantastic book! So well written. It’s definitely going on my “faves” list.
I would have finished the book last night but I had to put it down for awhile. I was reading the part that took place in a London war hospital in WW2 - and in the background my TV was on CNN… I ended up turning off the TV and just taking a break from reading for awhile. Just a little too much to take at once.
Who else has read this book?
