girl talk at 3am

Monday, June 30th, 2003

I knew my early-schedule wouldn’t last for long. Must get back to work on this! Lately, I’ve been staying up reading.. and I’d much rather read than sleep. :)
Hope everyone had a good weekend! My Sunday was pretty quiet… My mom and I had a girl-talk session until about 3am - That is about it!

Here is today’s { Daily Double }

1. How long has your longest friendship lasted? Would you consider he or she your best friend? Oldest friends, let’s see! *Thinks* well, I’ve been friends with Jasmine for almost 9 or 10 years now. (*gasp* has it been that long???) Cindy for about the same amount of time. Jeff, Liv, & Eddie for about 8 or 9! (yikes! LONG time!) Let’s see, As, I grew up with him. Actually, Brian.. almost forgot! (he’s not reading this though, so that’s okay) We have been friends since we were about 11 or 12 - which has been 12 years now! *gasp* Holly I’ve been friends with for *thinks* gosh, 3 years? or 4? I’m getting old, I can’t remember. How many is it, girl? =) Adam I’ve been friends with for a few years now too! I love all these people. Actually, if I consider you a friend - I  you!

2. If you were going to die in one week or less, what is the one thing you’d do before you die? Well, to be honest this list is very very long. This one requires some thinkin’! *ponders* Let’s see… I’ll make a list - because there is no way in hell I could only think of one thing!

  • travel. this is numero uno! I don’t have just one-place I would go. I think I would like to spend the entire time I have left just traveling around…
  • make sure everyone I love knows how much they mean to me
  • give a box of all my journals that I’ve kept my whole life to a trustworthy friend for safe-keeping
  • learn all the languages I want to.
  • give lots of hugs!

I know that when I die, I’m going to be going, “DAMN, I forgot to do this… and that… and that! shoot.” hehe I’m going to be editing this list all day probably.

Wow - I cannot believe it is the last day of June already!

care for some tea?

Sunday, June 29th, 2003

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Not too much going on here this weekend, reading, movies, etc.. same old stuff. I did meet an interesting character tonight while shopping though!

This elderly lady who worked behind the counter while I was trying to decide between 2 purses/handbags. When she started talking to me, I recognized her accent… she spoke with this charming Irish accent. I asked her where she was from and she proudly grinned and said, “Oh, I’m from Ireland!” I told her I recognized the accent & that I was completely fascinated by anything about Ireland. She asked me if I’ve read many books on the country (why she asked me about books, not reallly sure) but… I told her I have - lots of them. This made her grin. :) I told her I even took a course on Irish-Gaelic and attempted to learn the language but I didn’t get far. She seemed pretty surprised and goes, “oh goodness no, too hard! I couldn’t do it. My son has been trying to learn though… it is so difficult.” and I nodded and agreed with her… we talked a bit more about various things and she helped me pick out the 2nd purse I bought.. then at the end of our conversation she looks at me and says, “You are a very lovely person.”

There was just something about this woman that can only be described as sunshine. She instantly reminded me of a grandmother figure in a book or movie… “come in dear, have some tea”. :)
That is my story for the day - what is everyone up to this weekend?

I’m off to bed - I stayed up entirely too late with my nose buried in a book.

stuff

Thursday, June 26th, 2003

I’ve been trying to post an entry all day but I’m eh.. I’m very very worried about my grandparents - I found out a bunch of stuff today that I didn’t know before & it upset me. Hopefully things will be okay though. Odd how you can just be bitching/upset about something (see the post entitled day trip) and it turn out to just be not important at all. *shrug* I’m going to stop here.

day trip

Thursday, June 26th, 2003

I’m home… I went to visit my grandparents for the day on Wednesday. We were originally going to spend the night, but we didn’t. It was a nice visit… It was kind of sad though - they’re starting to pack up their house because they don’t need all the space anymore.. and this house was just a major part of my life growing up. =( I’m sure I’ll get back there before they move for good.

On the way home though, ugh.. I got so angry I just wanted to cry. As I was getting ready to leave and help put things in the car I kept thinking “I’m forgetting something!” but I had no clue what it could be. I kept going over this mental checklist of everything I took with me… and I couldn’t figure out what it was that I had forgotten…

…then it hit me about an hour before I got home.

*sigh* late night reading =)

Tuesday, June 24th, 2003

*rubs her eyes* I should be sleeping - I’ve actually been dozing off & on all night while I’ve been reading.. but now I’m off to bed, I think. My eyes are just aching - I shouldn’t read anymore tonight! Especially since I barely slept much the previous night.

The Lush fairy delivered an Aqua Mirabilis to me today…Quite lovely! x 3.

I’ve been munching on scorpa tonight… Yummy! (it is Swedish - basically like a biscotti.. tastes like almonds) It is now on my list of fave things, I think… it is quite fantastic. :) A friend gave it to me - which was a surprise.. she says its for being nice to her during her recovery from surgery but she really didn’t have to get me anything. She also gave me yummmmmy tea. Perfect things for reading! Lavender, a good cup of tea, scorpa, and a good book… ya can’t beat it!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

***yes, I’m aware there are a lot of smilies in this post… no more, I promise! :)

oops, damn.

hehe =)

*snicker* couldn’t resist.

lazy sundays

Sunday, June 22nd, 2003

Like I was telling someone earlier, today was a fantastic day too. I loved it. Our weather was around 81F - sunny, slightly breezy..etc. and it was just the perfect day to sit outside reading.. or to sit in the shade on a hammock and just rest.

Sometimes Sundays can be the best.

Yesterday was good too - giving HP5 to the little girl.. felt a bit like Christmas! She was so so happy. :)
