hmmm, boring day?

*rubs her eyes*

I don’t have any news to report.. I think the extent of my Monday was spent hovering over my book (Portrait of Sepia) that I’m reading w/some friends in our book-club. I was supposed to have Section 2 completed by last night but.. well, I didn’t. I’ve been reading the Reading Lolita book all week instead of the other one. That’s about it for my day.. maybe something more interesting will happen today? Who knows.

I did spend a great deal of time outside on Monday… the weather is so much cooler.. I love fall weather!

I went out again Monday night… (it was going to be rather cold for us.. in the 40’s) niiiice. :)
Movies I watched… hmm, did I already post about White? I can’t remember.. and I also watched The Shape of Things.. eh. I’m trying to think if I have seen any great movies lately that I haven’t mentioned but none are springing to mind.

I’ll come up with something better to babble baout later.. I’m slacking. (and I have tons of emails to do… I’m slow.. I am working on them, I promise! )

I hope everyone has a fantastic day - and I shall babble with my lovelies later. (lovelys? no, that’s not right. Lovelies. *checks* Yup, that’s it.

*end of ramble*

clouds, lightning and car trips.. ya know, good stuff.

I got home a bit ago from visiting my grandparents for the day.. It was an interesting day… I had a great time though. :) I’m completely exhausted now and there’s a lot to talk about today so I might just post half of this now.. half later.

This was the first time I got to see their new place… It’s quite lovely. :) I spent the day exploring the place with my grandma and I think I spoke to absolutely every single person I ran into today.. everyone is just so… polite there. Every single person says, “Hi! How are you?” Everytime you passed someone they would smile and ask you how your day was… too bad more people don’t do that here. I mean, this was absolutely everyone… and I do normally speak to people like that but not everyone.

*thinks* Let’s see.. what else. Lots of random things happened today but the most interesting to me right now.. well, I wish I had a camera with me on the trip because the drive through the mountains was gorgeous. It was quite foggy and at one point.. there was just this huge cloud covering this bridge (at the top of the mountain) and you couldn’t see through it.. it was sort-of like driving through the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Then after you passed through that - if you looked to your right there was a huge vallley and a gorgeous sunset.. and on the left were more clouds. In the distance… lightning. Lovely! Next time… I am definitely taking a camera. After I started on today’s trip… I remembered how I told myself that the last time. damn!

Alright… another part of the day… I was traveling with my mom on this particular trip and though we’ve taken the same route for hmmm, 20 years? We completely missed a turnoff and ended up 30+ minutes out of the way. I was daydreaming and listening to music.. staring out the window.. and I noticed I couldn’t see anything.. no signs, no lights, nothin’. I thought it was rather odd but I just went back to my thoughts.. and my mom asked me if I had seen the turn-off. I hadn’t.. but then I noticed I did see a few signs that weren’t anything I recognized. There was a storm in the dsitance.. and you could see tons of cloud-to-ground lightning (which was gorgeous also) I figured the electricity was off in this area because usually when we get closer to the turn-off.. (which isn’t really marked by signs) we see houses/stores that are familiar and that’s how I always knew we were close.. You could see nothing tonight. It was rainy.. and well, just not great driving weather. Kind of creepy when you realize you are quite far away from where you are supposed to be and you aren’t 100% sure where you are. We just ended up in the next town - which is no biggie.. interesting night though. Kinda fun. :)

I’ll post more later. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Coupling

Friday, September 26th, 2003

Did anyone watch Coupling tonight on NBC?

I did.. and I wish I hadn’t. *shudder*

I didn’t like it - I just wanted it to end. ASAP. They copied the dialogue, characters, and storylines from the British version exactly! Ergh. How unoriginal can you get?

Drove me up a wall. They made the pretty blonde one Sally instead of Susan. and the guy who plays Steve looks just like the Patrick guy on the original….etc. I could go on and on. I watched it because I was curious as to how it compared.. I don’t think I’ll watch the American version again. *picky*

*end of rant* On to better things!

Anyways, how is everyone’s week going? Mine’s fine… I’m trying to catch up on everything.. I’m feeling a tad bit overwhelmed but I’m making progress. Slowly.. but I’ll get there! I’m having a problem with emails lately.. (this is a true story) My emails are vanishing.. and when I told a few friends the problem they told me it had been happening to them also… I have no idea where these emails are going but I keep writing my friends asking them, “did you get the email I sent you a few days ago?” and the usual answer is, “Nope, did you get the one I sent you?” Don’t know what the deal is there… Odd though. I thought it was just me & my crazy luck. Guess not…

I can’t pull myself away from Reading Lolita in Tehran this week. I picked it up at the bookstore last weekend and I’m just engrossed in it. I’ll write a proper review of it when I finish.. but I’ll write a summary.. basically, it’s about a book club where women read books that are banned to them.. and how they are searching for beauty in literature because they feel so trapped in every other aspect of their lives. It’s a very moving story.. and I’m actually learning a lot. When I finish, I’ll post an extremely long post on the subject.

I’m working on completing by About page.. and changing a few things. (the quotes on the left-hand side will be gone, I think.. not sure what I want to put in their place.. Hmmmm! Also thinking about re-doing my 100 Things list)

I hope everyone is having a great week! Oh, and it is Friday now… have a fantastic weekend everyone!! :)

Wednesday, September 24th, 2003

Alright, if you’re my friend… I’m apologizing to you.

I’m trying to catch up on emails, blogs, phone calls and everything but I’m just so far out of the loop and behind. *sigh*

I need a personal assistant. I just need help right now… who wants to apply for the job?
The strangest (well, not strange.. stupid is more like it) thoughts come into my head when I’m running on no sleep… I guess that’s just what happens when one barely sleeps, eh?

I’ll post more later. I hope everyone is doing okay - have a fantastic day! :)
(don’t kick my ass, I’m sorry… :cutie: )

Attn everyone:

I have been kidnapped by aliens… this will explain my vanishing. If you haven’t heard from me in ages: blame the aliens. You can email them and ask them nicely to let me go… that might work.:nervous:

hehe… I’m just crap at emails and posting the past few days. I’ve been organizing my Inbox and I’ve found massive amounts of emails I’ve not replied to. :sorry:

I’ll catch up on emails soon.. promise!

(I will not write posts on no sleep anymore…)

surprises

Saturday, September 20th, 2003

I received a surprise in the mail yesterday - a belated birthday package from my dear friend… the box was full of goodies from Ikea. (I’ve never been.. I live nowhere near a store) Stationary, an organization box (haha, she knows me so well! :) ), candles… (watermelon and vanilla… they smell lovely. It has to be the best-smelling vanilla I’ve ever encountered. My bedroom just smells heavenly!) stuff like that…

Absolutely lovely, thank you! I love surprises like that!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone! :)

regrets

Friday, September 19th, 2003

I was watching the newest episode of Dead Like Me (my current fave-show) and basically this particular episode revolved around a person’s last thoughts before they die… and the grim reapers realized most last thoughts were just filled with regrets. (”I should have told so&so I love them”, “I wish I had taken better care of so&so”, “Why am I all alone” sort of thoughts) I found it rather sad… but it made me wonder. Say you found out you had five minutes left to live - what would your biggest regret be? What is something you haven’t done yet? What is the first thing that pops into your head?

so I *am* amused easily…

Afiag is your Vampire name.
Your name means that you are a Vampire who has many
friends, and few enemies. Other Vampires know
not to cross your vengeful path.

What is your Vampire name?
